Blade107 Jan 18, 2004, 12:46 AM A friend with a Matrix modded box is complaining that the machine won't eject a disc and it flashes red/green. No error messages he says..Anyway to get the disc out? - Any help appreciated.
BTW, i've read plenty of complaints of red/green errors lately..
Thanks
eao30 Jan 18, 2004, 04:06 AM If it is an easybuy2000 you are screwed easybuy is the worst place to order from. I ordered from them and i got a doa chip.
Devil-Man Jan 18, 2004, 11:24 AM his chip has come out of place, and needs to be re-alligned
freakit Jan 18, 2004, 11:41 AM also if all goes bad, you can always poke something really small into the hole to the left of the eject button. This will force open the tray.
Blade107 Jan 18, 2004, 04:28 PM Thanks Guys. I'll have a look with my friend as i haven't seen the Box yet although i've installed the chip for him..Worked great for a long time.
Hopefuly reallining will do the trick. His kids move that Box way too much...
Maybe a good sign is that there's no error message on-screen.
darkside9 Jan 18, 2004, 10:26 PM I would bet anything that is the problem. The chips do have a tendency to shift after a while which is why I recommend some kind of fastener once u get it lined up (epoxy or some hot glue to hold it in place.
handyguy Jan 19, 2004, 11:38 AM Is that red/green or orange/green? Cause one means your a/v isn't connected according to the manual which describes these things.
Blade107 Jan 19, 2004, 12:29 PM Well, he says red/green. I Haven't seen it yet...
I'll get the machine this week and try to get back up in line...
And darkside i'll try a fastener this time for sure. BTW, you mean around the pogo-pins??
Thanks!
Devil-Man Jan 19, 2004, 10:28 PM just glob some hot glue on all the corners of the chip to hold it in place.
SnipeXx Jan 28, 2004, 04:05 AM Did realigning the chip fix your problem?
public-enemyukl Jan 29, 2004, 12:07 PM Have same prob - a little tap on the bottom of the box sorts this out for me - but not sure if it`ll work for you might make the thing worse!!!
jonboy1256 Jan 29, 2004, 12:28 PM i had the same prob/it turned out to be the motherboard so microsoft said they fixed it under warranty
SnipeXx Jan 29, 2004, 01:08 PM so aparently this is a multiple problem error. I've heard it is a HDD failure issue more than anything though.
Blade107 Jan 29, 2004, 02:47 PM Update.. My friend managed to eject the disc. He told me the box is playing movies ok but haven't used for games lately because his kids are grounded. I guess he's in no hurry but i'll be taking a look at realigning the chip if needed. Thanks for all your input!
public-enemyukl Jan 29, 2004, 03:25 PM Hi m8
I think you will need to look @ D0 point on the chip...
