Hi,

I just recently formatted my pc, and installed XP pro.

Now, for some reason, the standby button seems to be greyed out so that I cannot put my PC in the mode.

Any ideas?

have u looked in the power settings in device manager to see if u can enable it.

I tried the device manager power options. But standby does not appear in that either. Just restart/turn off

not sure then m8.have you tried micro softs website to see if theres owt in their database.or could it be the mobo's bios thats holding you up.try to get a flash for your bios to see if thst does owt.

Have a look in your bios .
If you have a recent m/board you may well find you can alter you power settings from there too.
