BigCnasty31 Jan 18, 2004, 10:33 PM I've tried creating several dvd backups using dvdxcopy software, but none of them will start on my xbox. When i play the dvd on dvdx2 it goes to the warning that dvdxcopy puts on it for the legal purpose and stuff. After that it says to press a button to override parental controls. Then instead of playing the movie it goes back to the warning and then back to the dvdx2 main screen. On movies that require 2 dvds, the second works fine since it doesn't use the menu. I tried playing the backups in other dvd players and they work perfectly. What's going on here? Are there other ways to backup dvds that boots straight to the dvd and not use a warning? If someone could help me out here i'd really appreciate it.
jusluv2play Jan 18, 2004, 11:34 PM Here ya go, safest way to backup DVD's
DVD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
Record Now DX , Nero, or Easy Cd Creator (whichever you have, I like RND best)
And that is it.
EDIT----- Why did you post this in the Xbox forum anyway????? I just noticed this. Duh me.
Devil-Man Jan 19, 2004, 12:11 AM well since you mentioned it jusluv2play, how do you burn raw dvd files with recordnow dx? i can't find a way at all. by raw files, of course i mean, like the ifo and vob files, all that jazz. :)
nimbles Jan 19, 2004, 03:17 AM well this is really a dvd topic but here's my two cents-
what with dvd shrink's compatibilty with nero now (in the latest version dvdshrink will now rip, transcode and burn!!-albeit the burning bit is through nero 5.5 or above), i think theres really only need for one bruning prog for dvd's and nero seems to have ironed out the issues with dvd compatibility that plagued it in series 5 and below.
never had a problem with burning xbox iso's in nero either, although have never tried to burn udf type games (i've always converted them first)
also the main reason i ditched RNM was because of conflicts that started to arise with nero- apparently a few people had the same prob over in the dvd forum, turns out you have to install nero b4 RNM (?!?!?), quite a few removed nero and some removed RNM
I have yet to regret choosing Nero
BigCnasty31 Jan 19, 2004, 01:16 PM Thanks for the help jusluv2play. I can now play the movies on my xbox and i don't even get a warning screen or have to split into two disks. I really appreciate it.
jusluv2play Jan 19, 2004, 03:21 PM Glad to help, glad to see ya straightened out the raw file issue out on your own also.
Makes ya feel good doesn't it???:)

Nero really doesn't work for me for anything but audio cd's so I stay with what works for me.
I burned a dvd with Nero 6 Ultra and it took twice as long even at 4x. It was the verify process, I think that added the wasted time.
RCDX is my pick for me setup. A lot of it depends on other software installed in your system too
