Just got an Acard 2022D all iz working fine apart from the fact that i can not reduce the speed ?

When i go to system & select DVD Burn Speed .it is selected to Max
But i cant change it ????

You must have a blank DVDR in the drive before you can set the DVD write speed, Hope this helps.

your not the only one ive heard to have this probam i right in thinking you can alter the cd burn speed ok.but as you said dvd burn will not shift from maximum whatever you do

Yes it does like i described above, you must have a blank dvdr in the drive before it will change the speed, this is due to the fact that cdrs work different from dvdrs for example you can burn an 8x cdr at 12x but you cant burn a 1x dvdr at 4x, Like the manual states their must be a blank dvdr in the recorder before the write speed can be changed.
