Hey guys, I just got an LG DVD multi recorder GSA 4040B, and I've been having some problems with it. First of all, it plays movies and all that, and it also records cds/cdrws. However, it won't recognize dvdrs! It wont let me record in any dvd modes, and it acts as if it's only a cdrw drive...could anyone help? BTW, I'm running my computer (P4 1.7ghz) with Windows 98. When I was installing this drive, there wasn't enough room on the motherboard to have another cd/dvd drive on my computer, so I unplugged everything from my previous Justlink CDRW drive on my computer and plugged them all into the new dvdrw drive...will that have anything to do with the problems Ive been having? Please help me out-thanks.

yeah a computer that old probably thinks the old cdrom drives still around so you have to get into your bios & let it redetect the new one. my old ones used to have a nvram bios setting & that HAS to be cleared as its the memory of what you have in the computer.
