I have a Liteon LTD163 DVDROM and a Pioneer 106 writer. When I try to copy on the fly I can only get the DVDRom to read at 2x.

I thought that this may be due to the rom and the writer being on the same channel but have read with interest that some roms are set to only read at 2x. When I do the test with the Nero Drivespeed it shows no more than 2x read.

Is there anything I can do about this?

:D

Have you checked that DMA is enabled on both IDE Channels ?

Also you will ned to configure your drives, so as the 106 is the Master on the Secondary IDE Channel and the DVD-ROM as the Slave on the Primary IDE Channel, otherwise there is too much data being read/written on the one channel ....... this will require some juggling with the drives and their jumpers.

I did notice when messing around with the drive info on Nero that the DMA was disabled but I kinda got stuck there. Is it easy to enable the DMA on the Rom?
