Don't forget I found that Windows media player played some files played better in it than LDplayer or winamp5 so there will be discrepancies cos there was no standard test method.

lets ask wot peoples test methods were,so that we can establish a clearer picture.and if ever theres any more tests on sets to be done should we have a controlled test method so that everyone does it the same way.

i used winamp 3 to test my selection.

I used both winamp5 and ldplayer but have found that ldplayer degrades the playback more than WMP that I use at the moment.

Emm, might not be the right place for this but ......, while I understand some of the comments I think Tim should be given the benefit of the doubt. Something must have happened in his life to bring this situation about, whatever it is it's not really my business. All I can say is, I too had problems when I should have been checking the first lot, boringly enough it was illness. This time it's a breakdown on the laptop holding the files. I've got the laptop up and running again so at present am transferring files to cd while I get the chance. Once that's done I'll put them on another machine and start checking again.
Point is, no one ever knows what's around the corner and sometimes we don't want people to know what's gone on in our lives.
As far as I'm concerned, Tim has helped me in the past, probably will in the future, and I believe in forgive and forget.
Off my soap box now.
Take care all.
