I have just installed a new dvdrw in place of my cdrw and when my system boots up it is checking for a boot up disk in the dvdrw. It didn't do this before and I've forgotten what to change to prevent this (bios setting ? - award).

If I have a disc in the drawer when the system boots then the system hangs trying to use the disc. I have to eject the disc to continue.

sounds like you have the boot sequence in the bios set to cdrom as the first boot device. Can't remember Award bios's but there should be an option for boot device somewhere.
