Is there a way to delete certain links in the drop down address bar with out deleting the whole history? Any help is greatly appreciated

The history in the IE address bar is stored in the Registry. To remove single URLs you need to use Regedit , the urls are stored in
HKey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/TypedURLs/
delete the offending URL from the list.
