trying to backup a film but i am getting a bad quality backup which i don't normaly get with dvdshrink the original is just over 7 gig
can anyone help been messing around with this for 2 days

Do you have perform deep analysis checked? If so thats the best quality you can get without making a movie only backup.

I assume your trying to make a 1 to 1 backup. If so your going to have to reauthor it, and make it a movie only backup.

Or you could try using the manual settings and use maximum compresion on the extras and keep only english audio & subs leaving more room for the movie itself.

have tried just the film it has improved just a bit
it is a old 8o's tv series released end of last year and quality is a little cloudy on the original boxset
i think this why i'm getting a poor copy from it

Yeah, if the source disc isn't the greatest quality then you certainly aren't going to get stellar results doing a backup. Some DVDs simply don't have much work put into cleaning them up.

You might want to try re-encoding with CCE, maybe run some filters to sharpen it up a bit, see if that helps.
