DVD Shrink or DVD2One will do that for you.

Reauthor in DVD Shrink or the Join function in DVD2One.

ok well dvd2one will do it (1.3 and above i think)

For movie only- i'd do the following- rip side a and side b to the hd in separate folders (only vobs are required)

side a vobs should be numbered something like this vts01_1.vob, vts01_2.vob etc.

rename the second set of vobs so they follow directly from the last vob of side a, so if it ended vts01_6, rename the first vob of side b vts01_7.vob, the second vts01_8.vob etc.- now move all of side b into the same folder as side a

then start ifo edit, and select "create ifo", point ifo edit to the first vob in the set (vts01_1.vob), and ifo edit will create a a video_ts.ifo.

Now you can re-encode with your weapon of choice.

edit: thats the oldschool method - didn't realise dvdshrink would allow it with reauthor:o- listen to PhilEnfield;)

Silly question but if using dvd shrink when they are joined what about menus is there a way to keep them or can i make my own or are menus out and gone at this stage.

no chance of menus if you wanna join them- if you really can be arsed, you could rip all the vobs, work out what vobs are what, and create a simple menu using dvdlab

the problem is if you want to do animated vobs, you will more than likely have to find the vob that contains all the animated menu vobs, and split that into all its constiuent pieces and reconnect them. It is do able with dvd lab but is pretty time consuming.

IMO if you want to keep the menus, you'd be better off copying each side to a seperate disk ....... quality will be better too.

As it's a long film, you would simply change the disk half way, instead of flipping it .... no different to the original really then.
