Thinking about buying one of those TDK thermal printers from SVP for direct disc printing. Accordiing to what Iv'e read, Ink jet printable discs are not compatible with this kind of printer. Anyone know what kind of printable Ritek discs I could use or where to get hold of them in the UK.

Not sure about what type of Ritek discs, but OptoDisc makes a highly-compatible thermal print DVD-R. I think SVP sells OptoDisc. I know Ritek is the first thing that pours out of everyone's mouth, but OptoDisc is equal in quality in my experience burning with Pioneer 105, 106 and 107.

Basically anything should work. (Most) printables included in my experience.
Glossy white-tops or unbranded silvers work best for me.
Yes the Optodiscs SVP are selling are first-rate media. But give the cheap £6.50 discs a go -- the perfect glossy white surface, and a fine quality disc (Prodisc manufactured with a Sony MID) for an insanely cheap price.

Thanks guys.
Just received the printer from Svp so will get hold of some Optodiscs & have a play.
