Make sure you have an updated M7 or the new X2 bios... some XBOXs especially the new v1.5 has the focus chip which only I believe 3 bioses support....

for v1.4 (think) and v1.5 (defo) use either the m7 or xecuter 4979/4980/ or 4981 (recomended) bios`s, as these have support for the new focus video chip.............otherwise you`ll end up with a blank screen...............

Yeah, you can do the tsop flash on all versions, with no problem, so you should not have an issue with it. BUT, if you plan on using Xbox Live, you should REALLY consider a chip instead of a flash, with chips being really cheap now anyway, and being able to be turned on and off, it would be worth it to consider if you plan on playing Xbox Live games or not. For best Xbox Live support the M7 or X2 bios on a chip is the best.

I only use the aladdin chips from www.modchipnow.com and they work just fine. And they're cheap. Also has support for Larger HDD (over 120Gig even I believe, but I've only ever done 120gigs so far) and you can turn the chip on or off, just by holding the power button on the xbox when booting up. I used to flash all systems, till they were banned from Xbox Live. So I don't do them anyway, always use the chip.

I have also tried to X-B.i.t and X-Ecuter chips, but in my mind, most people don't need some of the flashy (forgive the pun) extras they have, the aladdin chip does pretty much the same things they do, it works the same, does the same, and gives options for the same tupe of things like evox dash, etc..etc.. So the only difference I have found, it just the price, and the Aladdin chip is much cheaper.

Check em out at www.modchipnow.com (I am **NOT** Plugging them, check out any other site you want. They just have all the chips available so you can compare and I am posting their site just for reference, they've always treated me well, so I have no qualms about mentioning their site!)

Do look around though as their price is a TOTAL ripoff !!!

That said the Aladdin Advance is a gr8 chip and I prefer it over my x2.2 Lite xbox.

It is possible to put in a switch on tsop flashed xbox that will allow you to go on xbox live. Flip the switch and you are automatically taken to the micrsoft dashbaord- i.e.: C drive.
