Hi all.

Is there any real difference between one brand of Compact flash card and another brand.
I've just bought a digital camera and only need about 128MB of memory.

Thanks

Their speeds vary and some people (only a few) say they have had problems with certain brands on certain cameras.

A while ago I bought a 128mb card (£17.99) from 7dayshop, it was Viking branded and is great in my Canon A60 (2mp). I'd say if you've got a high MP camera (5mp+) then go for a faster card as the files will be alot bigger. But for a 4MP and under, most CF cards will do, you wouldn't really notice the difference in the speeds as the files aren't that big.
I also bought one of their USB 2.0 card readers (about £9), it's alot faster than taking images direct from the camera (USB 1.1).

smeggin19, Hi.

Strange...The card I was looking at was the Viking. And the camera I have just bought is a Canon A60.

I don't have a USB 2.0 connection and have just bid on a USB 1.1 card reader on ebay. This will do fine for me, still happily using an 8X CD writer.

The Viking 7dayshop price is better than Amazon, or ebay, so will order from there.

Thanks for posting, it's much appreciated.
