hi,

does anyone know what xbox chips these are?

i was told alladin but in not 100% they dont look like them to me?

also are these chips any good?

anyone have any ideas?

those are cheap mods. they go for around $8 each. they will hold 1 256 bios. I've used them on a few xboxs and they work fine.

will i be be able to use slayers disc and dashboard with this modechip ? and also does this chip support larger hardrives in xbox?

chip? no
bios on the chip? depends. flash with the latest x2 bios and you'll be fine. :tup:

Yeah they do appear to be Xiox chips, which are socketed.
No one has answered any update questions on them so search the forum for XIOS & see what people say.

theres that many names for these chips, when at the end of the day these are sst flash rom chips, other wise known as cheapmods /LPC chips, etc, etc, yes they have a socket, and a little circuit board, but they are cheapmods all the same

all you have to do is install the chip then reflash it trough evox. there are 4 solder points on the back that need to be jumped. if they are jumper or soldered together then you will be able to reflash.

I use to have a pic, but I lost it when my HDD crashed.

best thing to do is install it first, see what happens, if theres no bios on the chips, it wont do any damage, but if you install it and it boots to a screen , then ejects the tray for you, its got some sort of cromwell bios on it, if it boots normally and will play backups, then just reflash to the latest xecuter bios (4981), then your done m8
