lol the newer bios's even prevent you from connecting to xblive (still buggy though) when you try and connect in "modded" mode.

it won't and shouldn't happen-
a) without xblive generating m$ the $'s, the xbox will swiftly go the way of the dreamcast.
b) allowing modded xboxes on xblive creates a whole other problem in that several players will be running trainers, and other cheats, where's the fun in playing if you're not on a level playing field?

if you want online gaming get xbconnect

hi m8 there are programs that let you play online with backups
its not all fancy like xbox live but its free.

Its called "tunneling" which fools the xbox into thinking its playing a system link game when you are really playing with people over the internet.

XBConnect

This program is what i use quite frequently. It has far more players that use it and the program is more advanced. It allows you to host and join games, use passwords, and create your own login. This app also has a main chatroom feature where u can talk to people and advertise your game.

The program is available at www.XBConnect.com
There is a free version and a pay version, i think the pay version lets you host more people during a game

Usually 3/4 of the games are Halo, but theres also alot of Ghost recon, Rainbow Six, and Counterstrike games. Other games popup sometimes, 2-5 games. You can host your own games too.

YOU CAN NOT PLAY BACKUP GAMES ON LIVE, PERIOD.

Live detects a modified BIOS. When you boot from a modchip, the BIOS is loaded into memory, so you can't turn the chip off before going onto Live either.

So put simply, if you want to play Halo 2 on Live, buy it.

Well to be honest there has been reports of getting on live with backups by a hack in the bios but it is unconfirmed and even if it did work like the rest of the people said it would ruin xbox live. Its the same way with the tivo service, sure it can be hacked, but its not a good idea to bite the hand that feeds you.

Who said there is no honor among pirates? :)

Besides halo 2 is still a LONG ways away. But the halo2 weapons hack in halo1 is pretty sweet in the meantime.
