Sure but you will have to unlock it and reformat with a windows partition.

chip xbox, use config magic to unlock hdd, place said hdd into pc, power on, format hdd, done.

to unlock hdd, you must mod the xbox the hdd came with, the hdd and mother boards, are married with a unique password/key.

question - if a have a hard drive and not the xbox it came from can i do it
p.s. i have an xbox with it's own hd

The hdds are locked from the mobos they originally came with. You need to get that mobo if you want to use that hdd for anything.

It's locked and you don't have the key. The xbox it came from has the key.

They make good paperweights :)

Unless you can track down the original mobo you are screwed. I have 6 of these I took of the covers and stuck them together looks pretty cool on my wall.

well apparently, you can use LIVE info to view the hdd key of a locked drive, and then use hdunlock etc, to unlock it, ive tried it , didnt work, although quite a few people (on another big xbox scene forum) have tried it and say it does work, so you can try it, otherwise, yep no good, paper weights....................
