Ultimate_fusion Mar 03, 2004, 01:32 PM is it possible if so how cheers smokafatty Mar 03, 2004, 02:37 PM Sure but you will have to unlock it and reformat with a windows partition. TheCheekyMonkey Mar 03, 2004, 02:54 PM chip xbox, use config magic to unlock hdd, place said hdd into pc, power on, format hdd, done. to unlock hdd, you must mod the xbox the hdd came with, the hdd and mother boards, are married with a unique password/key. thats it, easy m8 Ultimate_fusion Mar 03, 2004, 05:19 PM question - if a have a hard drive and not the xbox it came from can i do it p.s. i have an xbox with it's own hd smokafatty Mar 03, 2004, 05:51 PM The hdds are locked from the mobos they originally came with. You need to get that mobo if you want to use that hdd for anything. Ultimate_fusion Mar 03, 2004, 06:11 PM is there nothing i can do then? pepsik Mar 03, 2004, 06:55 PM No It's locked and you don't have the key. The xbox it came from has the key. smokafatty Mar 03, 2004, 07:23 PM They make good paperweights :) Unless you can track down the original mobo you are screwed. I have 6 of these I took of the covers and stuck them together looks pretty cool on my wall. TheCheekyMonkey Mar 04, 2004, 07:07 AM well apparently, you can use LIVE info to view the hdd key of a locked drive, and then use hdunlock etc, to unlock it, ive tried it , didnt work, although quite a few people (on another big xbox scene forum) have tried it and say it does work, so you can try it, otherwise, yep no good, paper weights.................... |
