I have been trying to burn dvds with my machine and now ,all of a sudden , for no obvious reason my dvds are crapping out part the way through !!. ( it has been behaving perfectly up till now)
then ,.........when i do have success in burning a data dvd, the directories are all there and the file names but they are on 0 kb , with nothing in the file, i hasten to add not all the data has gone , just in several directories.
Anyone any suggestions what could be / is the problem !!!!.
i rweally do not fancy doing a total re-install to get thing back on track ,so to speak !!
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

P.S. i am running Genuine XP Professional, and it is a SONY DRU-500A DVD BURNER

what does crapping out mean exactly?

have you changed media, installed any programs/games, have you tried reconnecting the ide lead into the drive?

Try System Restore to before started having probs.
