Can any one help me with this? :wavey:

I’m just about to back-up a friend’s computer before installing a new graphics card. I noticed that her computer was formatted using the NT file system and not the FAT32 system like my computer. The only program I have is Norton Ghost 2003.

My question is, is the back-up process the same for both FAT32 and NT? What will happen if I attempt to do a Ghost back-up of the NT file system using Ghost 2003?

She’s using Windows XP Home.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Jessica

NG2003 works just the same, only differece is when you boot from a DOS floppy (Win98 etc), it wont see the drive or partition, its only when you run Ghost you can choose which goes to where.

Greetings Harty and the Duffster, :)

By default, Norton Ghost includes PC-DOS in the Virtual Partition it creates with the image files.

The best way is to follow this SUPPORT ARTICLE (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/docid/1999070716282425).

There are some good support articles in the Ghost help file at the bottom under "Knowledge base articles"

Just out of curiousity, why are you backing up her system for only changing a vid card? anyway ghosting nt wil work the same way ghosting fat.
