i am sad to hear this guide may close as i have not been here for a while .but i know what a great help it is to us newbies.anyway my problem is that since i have had my broadband connection i have downloaded morpheous and i have been downloading mp3 and mpg files.the mpg i watch then delete. the mp3 audio i burn to acd then delete. i started with 108ghz,now reads 106ghz.this has only happened since i downloaded the files over the last week.now i have looked everywere to find this missing 2ghz no luck.i have empted all the temp folders in morpeous and windows.i have been told that looking as my pc as a fileiong cabinet i must be able to find were they are stored on my system. done a virus scan with norton and avg no luck.could i have a virus or a trogen. my security is nortons internet security 2003 and the norton site says my security is 98%.i know it must be stored somewere but were.i was going to get regedit and see if i needed to edit some of my registry.any help in the right direction would be appreciated.colin colin@scoble9902.freeserve.co.uk

Could be a backdoor trojan that has imbedded a hidden file on your drive, they like to download things, and use the hidden file as a file server.

you can try and find the hidden file by going My Computer>Tools>File options> and tick the box that shows all hidden files.

a good trojan remover can be found at www.simplysup.com

BTW gigaHERTZ(ghz) and gigabytes (gb) are two different things.

I STRONGLY suggest that you leave your registry well alone unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Right click your recycle bin & select "empty norton protected files" or "purge protected files", then get rid of what's there.

That should solve your problem.
