MR WESTY Mar 09, 2004, 04:59 PM Password protecting my dvd films is there aprogram which would allow me to do this . so that before a film can be watched you get a password prompt cheers Roger The Shrubber Mar 09, 2004, 07:22 PM Since Stand Alone players have no way of entering data to them, I assume you only want these DVD's to play on a computer. I don't know of any method for password protecting a movie but you might be able to drop the VOB's in a password protected ZIP file. celtic_druid Mar 10, 2004, 12:17 AM What about the number buttons on the remote? Unfortunatly the only way I can think to do that would be with the parental lock feature of most players. There is a directshow filter capable of password protecting streams here http://corecodec.org/projects/vfre/ No idea how it would work with DVD though. MR WESTY Mar 12, 2004, 04:22 PM Cheers roger thats a good idea i could winace it then back up to dvd. though it would be nice to be able to use on a stand alone JS Mar 12, 2004, 06:45 PM Suppose you could do it with a series of menus before the film - bit like red dwarf series one disc one easter egg if you've got that. Not particularly secure, but it'd work on a standalone. |
