Can anyone provide me instructions (processes, software, etc.) on converting mpeg files (movie files currently on my PC) so that they can be read on my JVC dvd player? I've got 4 mpeg files totaling about 3 gb which could fit onto 1 dvd. I'm just not sure how to get these where I can watch them on my TV using my dvd player. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well if they are DVD compliant, then you just need to author and burn. TMGPEnc DVD author or DVDLab would be good tools for the job.

Decent chance that the audio is 44.1KHz though, the above can resample it to 48KHz though so that it is compliant.

If the video is not compliant (SVCD isn't) then you have two choices, try it as is or re-encode.

may sound like a stupid question...but how do I know if they (mpeg files) are dvd compliant? By that, do you mean if my dvd player recognizes mpeg format?...or are there differences in mpeg files? Obviously I'm pretty new to this....so thanks for the help.

Authoring app should complain if the mpeg is not compliant.
