anyone out there recemmend a DVD player which gives 100% playback on ALL formats, especially Divx and Xvid
I have a Yamada 2100 which plays everything i have barr these 2 formats.
So something in the same lines plus these 2 extra formats.

The DK Divx DVD Player I have seems to playback almost everything, but it is giving lip-sync problems on some XviD files, mostly files with ac3 sound. If this problem can be fixed I would defently recommend it to everyone.

I've got the Yamada 6100, with the lastest firmware upgrade from the website - plays everything I've put in it. The new Yamada 6600 looks pretty good too. For an informed opinion have a look at www.DigitalATHome.com there's a forum and all sorts of info and links.

None of the current players give 100% playback as none support 3 warp point GMC. They also only support the AVI container and don't support all audio formats. Probably also don't support pixel aspect ratio flags.

I would suggest a MediaTek based player though as it seems to be the best of the current chipsets and I would suggest avoiding any Sigma Designs based players.

I got the SCAN Ellion DVD520C. It plays all my DivX/XVid/VCD/SVCD & KVCD's no probs. It even played a corrupted DivX that was missing the Index, that wouldn't even play in my PC ;) They also recently gave us a firmware upgrade, that adds many more goodies... checkout hxxp://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=80132

I've got the lite-on LVD 2001, ni lip sinc problems (even 5.1 tracks) and it's played everything i've downloaded (20+movies).

The yamada 6100 is very highly rated and reasonably priced, Loads of reviews in the below link
