Hi,
I have a Dell Dimension P4 which has a DVD drive and a CD Rom drive underneath it. Well I think thats what they are anyway.
Recently the top (DVD) drive seems to have stopped working, but I have been using the cd drive to load in programs etc.
My computer is split into two partitions and I have just reformated my main partition and now I want to load in an operating system. But when I change the boot sequence in setup to "boot from CD- Rom device", and I put in the operating system cd it doesn't seem to even start reading from the cd and just comes up with this message straight away.
"Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility."
Does this mean that I will only be able to install the O/S if the DVD drive is working again.
Please can anyone help?
Thanks.
