My brother has a Pioneer PDR 609 CD recorder...a standalone unit ,not a PC burner.

Anyway, he says he has problems using CDRW's sometimes.....he puts a blank one in for recording and a message comes up saying 'Pro Disc'.

I assume that maybe the unit is a bit picky with which CDRW media it wants to use becuase he has used CDRW'S .... I think he said he used JVC's with no probs.

Does this sound like a media problem, or does that message suggest something else?

I have same model.....it needs special "digital audio" or "for audio only" discs. they are not the same as your regular CDRW discs
