Hi how do i put a new windows operating system on?

Put the disk in and follow the instructions.

If it doesnt autorun, double click the SETUP.EXE file.

I would suggest doing a clean install, rather than just a upgrade.

Backup needed files, then insert XP disc, and boot to cdrom.
Follow instructions to format drive and install XP.

This will mean you have to reinstall programs and drivers, but if you just upgrade there will be quite a few niggly problems.
