I just finished building a new pc and when i turned it on i noticed that the hard drive was making this "clicking" noise. Its was real loud and sounded like a cdrom with a scratched cd in it. i tried booting up the system anyway, but it kept freezing up @ the boot up screen. i disconected the hard drive and everything worked fine afrer that. So i tried changing the master, slave and CS settings on both the cd-rom and the hard drive and it still would make that "click" noise and cause the system to freeze. i tried switching the IDE cable also and it didnt work. is it possibe that the brand new HD i just bought is damaged? Or am i not doing something right??

sounds like a dodgy hd.

go get your money back or exchnge it.
