Hello recently both my cdrw and dvdrw have begun to act up. Here is whats going on. I have been have problems reading any kind of cd in my cdrw for a while not but it still burs perfect cds. And just the other day my DVDrw started giveing the same kind of problesms. But with my dvdrw I usaley get a I/O error at this point I cant read any cd's or dvd's in my dvdrw but it can still burn cd and dvd'd. I have also notice the burn time for a dvd went up from 30 mins to around 1 hour and 10 mins. The cdrw still burns cds in the mormal time for the type of drive it is. I have changed IDe cables aswell as put the cdrom and the dvdrw on diffrent IDE. I have tried just haveing one connected at a time to no aveil. I have read through the messages left by otehr people and have some IDea's of thins to try when I get home. I also have a PCI IDE controll installed with 2 hard drives on it do you think this might be causeing some conflits. there nothing in decdvice manger that says anything about conflicts or anything I alsoi have 2 other hard drives installed on the onboared IDE controler. So it looks like this dvdrw and cdrw on IDE1 then I have 2 other hard drives on IDE2 and then on the PCI IDE contoler card there are 2 more hard drives. I also have onboared ATA serial but it is disabled right now. Anythoughts would be helpfull Thank you

Well I think I have fixed the problem right now I have removed the cdrw and only have the dvdrw instaled on the computer.
I dont know why they just started acting as they have been like that for the last year. I am going to run some test on the cdrw later to see if
maybe it is falling thus bringing down the whole chain
