Is windows 2003 faster (startup/shutdown) than XP? Should I convert my drive to NTFS instead of FAT32 if i'm using XP? Thanks

Windows 2003 is intended for server functions and applications and as such it makes compromises. You'll get little to no benefit by using it instead of Windows XP.
