Hi all,
i've been using XISO manager v1.5.1 for building and burning XISO files.
The problem is, I've run into some media that the program doesn't recognize: maxell dvd+r 4.7G...As I type this, I wonder if the problem is the media is +r.
I did a search for another xiso program and found a quite a few.
Which would you recommend for an all round XISO app?

Tia! ;)

simplexiso is highly rated. But the problem,
I don't think it's with the program, if it doesn't
pick up the files it's because of your ******
doesn't read + media.

I used most of them but i'm using qwix @tm in combination with avalaunch, and to be honest i never had a program this nice. The abbility to create iso's while downing them from your xbox hd in combination with the new ftp protocol wich will speed up ftp transfer on some xboxes(yeah i still encounter them)

depends on your needs- xiso has a bad rep re: making iffy iso's (the way it structures the iso), but till recently was the only one that could allow you read dvd backups in a pc dvd-rom drive, now C-XBox Tool 2 will also do it and qwix is rumoured to have that feature in the next release.

C-XBox Tool 2 and craxtion (note you need to install the m$ .Net .11 framework for craxtion to work) can create/extract iso's as well as automating the whole multi game creation process from individual game iso's

Simplexisio is the simplest one- it does iso extraction/creation and is probably the least cpu intensive- u can do stuff whill waiting for the creation/extraction process to finish.

qwix is the one i use cos it has some advanced features such as cross linking which is technique that deletes multiple instances of the of a file in an iso and relinks all the files so that it still works correctly, but can sometimes save some space. It also has built in extraction and ftp on the fly to an xbox which is:
a)quicker than extracting first then ftp'ing through an ftp client
b) as SStyle says when used with avalaunch gives you faster ftpspeeds than you'll get through any othe ftp client.

Unfortunately at the moment it can't be used as a general ftp client, just for iso's-(you could always create iso's of whatever you want to transfer, but thats a round about way of doing things and is probably not worth the effort)

HTH

Oh yeah better thank "Answer: Why not" for this as he'll probably claim that he taught me all of this ;)
