Hello fellow helpaoutas,

As the topic says, backed up v8 supercars 2 via dvd2xbox but it just sits on the title - "loading v8 supercars 2" with the xbox logo in the background.

Have tried ftp to pc and patching with craxtion - says it dont need patching.

Haven't tried with another backup program.

Don't have dvd burner so unable to try booting from a dvd.

Got some .acl file from dvd2xbox website, didn't help, all I noticed it did was rename the install directory on HDD.

Stuck and annoyed!

Thanks!

you need to get the hdd fix for this and yes you will have to rename a file.

the hdd fix has a new xbe.

one of the files in the shader folder is to long, and you have to rename it

thanks noyfb, but a question, is this hdd fix specific to v8 supercars 2 or is it a general hdd fix for all games?
second, would I be pushing my luck if I ask where the hell would I get this fix? I have looked but obviously in the wrong places.

Download the latest dvd2xbox from somewhere if you don't have it already. Then go to dvd2xbox.com and download the ACL file specific to v8 supercars 2, unless you just downloaded the latest version of dvd2xbox since the file is included in the package.
Transfer dvd2xbox to xbox (if downloaded), or the acl file.
Fire up dvd2xbox and either re-copy the game or if its sitting on your hdd, browse it by using the explore feature in dvd2xbox and then choose the option to "process acl" on the v8 supercars default.vbx file.
FIXED.

Hi,
PC doesn't have a DVD drive, i copied V8 Supercars 2 to the harddrive throught direct connection. The game comes up the Play or Settings screen at the start but when i click on this the game loads for a while and comes up Please insert your CD (Copy Protection System) is there any way to get around this?

Cheers!
