Someone elsewhere mentioned that with nero and nero player one can record an LP in real time. In other words, record to CD as record is playing. I never knew this could be done. Granted, i'm behind the times. But anyway, could someone tell me how i can do this? I know how to hook up a turntable to PC and all that. I just need to know what software will do this and how to use it. I have nero, but it's an older version. 5.5 i think. And i don't have nero player. I don't want to buy anything more if i don't have to, so can i do this with my version of nero and do i need nero player. Or what other software can i use if not, freeware prferably.

You could use the Nero wave Editor ...you can find it in Start > Programs> Ahead> Nero Wave Editor.
It is a Basic program but you should already have it :)

Also, you may have the basic Windows Recorder as part of your operating system. At least I know that Win98 has it in the Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > "Sound Recorder". It should be there with "CD Player" and "Volume Control" Haven't checked WinXP though.

I presume you mean to actually burn a CD in real time as the LP is playing. If so, it's not something I would recommend. Download it to your hard drive first, and then burn it after doing any editing (such as click removal).
