Hi everyone ,

I hope that someone, probably considerably younger than me could help me with this problem.

I simply want to write data to a rewritable CD.

I have just bought a MSI DR8-A DVD+-R, +-RW. It comes with a Nero CD and a Sonic My DVD installer disc. I have Windows 98SE and a Pentium 111 with plenty of memory. It all seems to be working Ok except that I cant transfer any of my photos to a CD-Rw disc. I keep getting the message that the machine cannot format the disc but the disc is already formatted. I want to do this to simply free up my C drive. I also want to use this as a back up.

I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me where I am going wrong.

Many thanks

What type of media are you using? CD RW? DVD RW? What brand of media. Have you tried different types of media? Please get this information to me and I may be able to help out. :)

Good Day,

I noticed that you've purchased a DVD R RW drive. If it isn't a DVD RW/CD RW combo, it will not be able to write to CD RW media. That may be something to check into.
