Am looking at getting pc speakers with subwoofer. Would it be ok sitting behind a tft screen as I've heard it isn't too critical where it is put.

Thanks

It doesn't really matter because bass sounds are omni-directional however i'm not sure if TFT screens are affected by magnetic fields at all. Mine is on the floor next to the wall slightly behind me.

That's what I kinda thought, thanks for confirming it.
I've got no room on the floor around my desk really but I think I can put it on a shelf above the screen if not behind it!

TFT's aren't affected by magnetic interference.....luckily :)

I'm sure when I get a set I'll figure out the best place for it!

Cheers!

Any audiophile will tell you the ideal location for a sub, to get the maximum effect, is on the floor in the corner of a room.

any audiophile who believes in 5.1/6.1/7.1 is not an audiophile. I hate the sound that these systems create, when it comes to music it's all about a good 2.1 system IMO.

Agreed, 5.1/6.1/7.1 is great for movies and video games where the surround effect is usefull and ideal for what you are watching... Bullets flying pass your head, explosions, car chases, etc...

Regular music is stereo, two channel. I usually switch off the surround modes when just listening to music or put the amp into quad mode, where the back speakers just duplicate the front speakers.
