hey guys. i just picked up a new lite-on 16x dvd reader today and installed it. Now, when i read a dvd. it goes between1-3 m jumps. but when i use my recorder as the reader it goes between 5-7 m per. now, is there anything that i have to change to make my reader read faster? my lite-on, is being shown as jlms xj-hd1665

nevermind. seems that i need more memory. i got 512 and had my newsgroup program going. reading at 1-3m. but when i turned it off it jumped up to 7-10m. so more memory and it should be fine.

more ram = more efficient p.c.
You have spent a few quid on a dvd burner , why not improve the spec of your pc first matey?
At todays prices I'm a little bit supprised you aint using a gig of ram.
I'm not being funny with ya so don't take offence at my remark please..

512 DDR should be enough to do a lot of task. When I did upgrade to 1GB of DDR ram, it didn't make any real differences in term of efficency.
