Can anyone help me i am trying to convert my .avi movies into DVD format (.Vob) and wanted 2 know if i could do this.....?

If i can do this what software do i need to do it?

yes u can. you can use a number of converters such as CCE or TMPGENC. depending on the sompression used on the avi file (divx or xvid), u should extract the audio from the avi file with a program called VirtualDub, and save it as a WAV file. Then when u use your converting program, substitute your wav file in for the original audio in the avi file. hope this aint too confusing for ya... but do a search if u dont understand me, cuz this has been covered many times.

oh yah, forgot...this will only give you a dvd-compliant mpeg2 file. you then have to create the vobs with a dvd authoring program then u just burn with your favourite program and viola.
