I recently got an old "P2-350 DELL OPTIPLEX G1" and I've tried 2 different chipset PCI modems both hardware based.

They both dial and ring through, but refuse to complete the connection! I know they work cus I've had them both working in my other computers. so I was wondering if anyone else might have had a similar problem and possibly offer any advice? Oh, I'm using XP if that helps...

are you sure the number you are connecting to is the correct number. i had a probelm like that a few years back, turned out basically that i was calling a works internal number cause i had forgotten to put a 9 in from for an outside line. drove me mental
