My Pioneer DVR-105 is writing my DVDs at half the speed (x2 instead of x4 and x1 instead of x2)???????

Any ideas??? I have tried several diffrent types of DVD-R disks! Princo & Ritek ones.

If I flashed my Pioneer would this maybe solve the problem? If so, how do I go about this?
