Hi guys i have a pioneer 105 and all my riteks will only write at 2x ive updated the firmware tried different types of ritek but its still the same!! it keeps coming up power calibration error, the thing is it will write datawrite reds at 4x so i cant figure out what the problem is my burner is about 15 months old so i cant take it back to get a new one either,any ideas would be apreciated thanks lardy boy!! myself i think is on the way out

Nope, if you get pce's that means you must adjust your speed so you don't get them, in that case 2x.
If you want 4x just use datawrites.

the thing is the datawrite reds are not as good quality as the riteks thats why i wanted to use the riteks still cant understand why the wont write at 4x might give the drive to my brother to test it on his system

Your burner is wearing out. Especially with pioneer which from my experience isn't that great of a drive. I burn just the same amount of disc on my Sony and never got a power calibration error as oppose to the pioneer.

I just used a ritek 4x on a sony 500a & it wrote at 4x.

i think im resigned to getting a new burner the nec 2510 looks a good value one with a good write up might get that one,thanks for your comments

Hmm, I also wrote the same file with my Accu 2x disks & they wrote a few minutes faster than Ritek 4x.
