Hi all,
ive got the origional 4 cd's for Emporer: Battle for Dune and have had 0 success backing it up with clone cd v3.3.4.1.
Using the cd protection detector program which result in no/unknown protection found.
Ive tried diffrent combinations of settings within clonecd to read the first disk. Eg: read sub audio/data on, clonecd never completes the image, it just scans and scans.
I tried with error scan off, and the same thing.
This the first time ive run into problems backing up stuff.
Any ideas?

It is protected with SafeDisc2.

Celtic Druid,
thanks for the great info!
Im currently using a plex 24/10/40, so it looks like hardware is not an issue.
From the article, the only thing to enable when making the image, using clone cd, is 'Fast Error Skip'.
When burning the image, i can disregard AWS as this burner supports 'correct efm' encoding.
Is it that simple?
Anybody else have success using these settings with compatible hardware?
tia!

Cool!
i cloned the first disk with 'skip errors' on, and burned the image as normal.
Installed the game and played it successfully!
The real test is to see if the game plays in another writer. :)

I tried the cloned cd on another drive and it worked without a problem.
As well, i asked my friend to do the same thing with his plextor 16x writer, using the same settings. Surprisingly, a perfect clone was made even though the writer does not support "Correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns".
Any similiar experiences?

@stuart79uk, what you have just done is called thread hijacking, your post really has nothing to do with this thread.
Also, requesting (or giving out) CD keys is against the rules here. Consider this your one and only warning.
