Hi, can anyone help me I'm new to all this cdg & cd+g stuff. For starters whats the difference between these two formats? Secondly I can get hold of a DVD which several karaoke disks are stored. Is it possible to create a cdg or cd+g from this disk using nero and a pioneer 107? If so how?

Thanx, any help at all would be great.

First off CDG & CD+G are the same format (Stands for CD plus Graphics effectively text over audio).
With regards the DVD with lots of karaoke tracks, it depends on the format of the tracks on the DVD, if they are CDG type then it is relatively easy to burn them to a CD, however not with your software or equipment as neither support CDG format.

For a writer you will need a Plextor CD/RW drive (see ebay for this). For the software I use Microstudio by MTU. www.mtu.com

it will NOT be CD+G on your DVD mate, more likely to be mp3+G. Not sure about your Pioneer (do a search on here, I'm sure this has been asked before) but Nero WILL allow you to both copy CD+G and burn converted mp3+G (with a compatible burner). Best place to start is www.karaokeplayground.co.uk you'lll find ALL you need to know to get started over there.

To save you looking - no, the Pioneer DVD burners don`t support cdg reading or writing. sad, innit? :(
