snowy10 Sep 08, 2004, 06:45 AM Hi All
First of all I'd like to say what an awesum site this is and very informative.
My problem is I want to create back up disk's of all my CD+G disk's but am having alot of trouble reading them.
I have a Philips CDD4851 CD-R/RW drive in a HP PC and when i insert a CD+G disk all i appear to see are "short cuts", I am unable to see the Graphic or Music file and nothing i do seems to work.
I have down loaded CDRWIN and have played around with it quite a bit. I can get the Audio to work but not the graphics.
All or any HELP would be very much apprieciated
Thanks
Snowy

Go to goldenhawk.com to make sure your burner is compatable with CDRWIN, if so, check the settings in CDRWIN and make sure you have the +g option on. I use CDRWIN with a plextor and it works great.
Good Luck!
Happie Sep 08, 2004, 08:24 PM One more suggestion before going to goldenhawk.com. Open CDRWIN and click on the Devices & Settings. Your burner model should be in the window with the options available using CDRWIN. You may have to purchase a different burner or try Padus (Discjuggler) program to copy.
snowy10 Sep 08, 2004, 09:13 PM Thanks alot for your help,
I checked the CDRWIN and my CDR is there, but in the checked boxes below im not able to check "Read CD+Graphics Disks, does this mean my CDR cant read them and i should look at another one?
Also when using Autograbber i get this fault saying my i have an ASPI error, now what the heck is that??
Thanks
Snowy
Ps. Looking at Padus now
snowy10 Sep 08, 2004, 09:19 PM Is there software availible for reading all the hidden files on the disk?????
Thanks
Snowy

Your only options are to buy a burner compatable with CDRWIN or try Padus. I know padus will work with more burners than CDRWIN will, and it works fine if you just want to copy your current cd-g discs. If Padus does not recognize your burner as able to read cd-g, you will have to purchase a different burner. I use Plextor px-w4012A, but goldenhawk.com has a whole list of burners that are compatable with the program. (I prefer CDRWIN to Padus because it is easier to use)
Don't know about the ASPI error, and the hidden files, sorry!
snowy10 Sep 08, 2004, 09:36 PM Thanks very much Happie
I will try the padus thing and if it dont work ill get another reader,
Cheers
Snowy
vinniedub Sep 08, 2004, 11:01 PM The graphics part isn't hidden mate, just not viewable, it's part of the audio code on the disc. As for the ASPI fault using audiograbber, go back to the goldenhawk site, they can be downloaded from there.
gov Sep 10, 2004, 03:00 AM get the new pioneer dvd 8X writer and clone cd it will write karaoke cd's at 24 speed no problem the drive is arounr 55.00
Holler Sep 11, 2004, 12:18 PM The actual ASPI package is available here: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=%2fProduct%2fASPI-4.70&prodkey=Windows+ASPI+Package
If it does not work, you can try Force ASPI available here: http://forceaspi18.w.interia.pl/
Are you trying to backup a full disk, or burn individual tracks?
:)
captain casein Sep 12, 2004, 07:08 PM Try using the none compatable writer method with cdr win to make a que file and nero to burn an image file from the que file which might sound complicated but if you follow the help pages from www.karaokeplayground.co.uk you will find it quite easy to make a back up cd+g disk ..believe me between this website and karaokeplaygound I have learnt a lot.
boab Sep 12, 2004, 07:31 PM get yourself a plextor and it's plain sailing m8
gov Sep 13, 2004, 01:33 AM open cdr win and select the Extract/Disc/Tracks/Sectors them on the menu on the lefthand side select select setors which is at the top, now in the datatype drop down box select Audio With CD+G 2448, in the reading options which is just below that put a tick next to CD+G, now got the top again and select select track in the box below that you have to pick ware you want to store the cd files.
if you get stuck let me know ***********@hotmail.com

Phil_806 Sep 15, 2004, 03:08 PM If you just need back-ups m8, why not just get a Plex CD/RW and use DiscJuggler or CDR-WIN to burn a backup... much easier.
