the sims 2 builing problems

the sims 2 that i got has something wrong with it becuz i cant do anything in build mode
like i cant make walls or put doors or anythin thats in build mode
does anyone else have this problem and if so does anyone kno what can i do to fix this becuz i cant do anythin to fix my house or anythin
so if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it

use the noraml exe to start game, do not use the no cd crack, and it should work fine.

ok, instead of using the no-cd crack, (it doesn't work properly), mount the cd1 on Daemon Tools, or burn the cd using alcohol 120% securom data type settings.

when i tried playing it with the image mounted it says cant play becuz of emulation software
so if i burn it with alcohol 120 then the message the says cannot find cd-rom wont come up anymore

What is it exactly you are trying to do?

Are you trying to play the game with a copy, with an original, or make a working copy?

it doesnt work without the original and the patch becuz it keeps sayin it detects emulation software or cannot find cdrom
but i havent tried usin the original yet

Some games will search your PC for any backup software like CloneCD, Alcohol etc.

They normally search for the programs exe file, and if they find it, stop the game from playing.

Normally, updating the programs like Alcohol or Clone will trick the game into thinking that you don't have these programs. It's either that, or removing them.

Also, if you have CloneCD, read the CloneCD help file, but try checking "hide CDR media" in the CloneCD tray icon???

They aren't really showing you how to bypassing anything. You need to turn off emulation in order to use the originals.

Yeah, I understand that, and technically you are correct, but they are the ones that introduced that stupid idea of blocking emulation (Some won't even install if you have particular backup software), then they show you to "get past it". (My words for lack of a better term).

I just think it's stupid. Either you do something, or you don't. Anyway,

i have a copy of the game as a gift and i cant really get it working. first i install the game. then whats next. can some one give me a step by step instruction in what to do. but when i used a no cd patch i have the following problems

1. i cant build
2. when i place my disk 1, the pc says cant locate disk
3. i have no alcohol 120%
4. lastly im confused with all the steps posted in this forum

This is a way I found that worked and I had loads of problems with emulation software. Go here http://www.gamerzheaven.leveledit.com/downloads.htm and download the Matthew Flavells thing, it's 42mb big but is worth it. If like me you bought the Sims 2 but it wouldn't play off the original disk and asks for the disk. Download the Money no cd from http://www.gameburnworld.com then you can play the game from the original retail version, that's what I had to do even though I paid £35 for the game just to not work with the cd any way. Alternatively you can just do the other method on my previous post which you wont need any cd to play it.

i have a no cd patch thingy that wont let me build but now that i know that disc one is protected should i use alcohol120 to burn it again? cus im really excited to build my ULTIMATE HOUSE TOWER

Well mate just use the thing I've posted, it allows you to build and save but you must uninstall every emulation software on your computer including clone cd which is also detected as emulation software, so i found out. The crack does remove the build mode you just need to dowload a patch for a image mount the everything should work on sims
icarnt find the image mout its called sims.iso thats what u quoted about erlia :madhack:
