Right, here's the deal, I know my x-box will read cd-r's....I also know that some won't, but what I wanted to know is....if I got the bin/cue or ISO images for a VCD, could I just FTP the images over and would the media player or media centre play them from the ISO or Bin/Cue files? Or would I need to extract the folder form the vcd/svcd? I don't have many CDs left and wanted to know if I can do this, like I FTP the games over....

dont think it can read iso/bin/cue files. but just use vcdgear to extract the mpeg from the bin file and transfer that to the xbox into a folder of your choice, mine is just a created folder called movies in the E drive and use media centre to play them.

Here are the file formats that the latest version of xbmc can play as you can see .bin files are supported, so a dvd's ripped to .iso, .img and Nero's .nrg provided the ifo's are dvd compliant- somthing that isn't always the case with some of the recent group release rips

i suggest you head over to the XBMC forums if you have these type of questions and if you use XBMC i suggest you bookmark the online manual (http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de)

You don't even need to FTP them over to your box, if you set up your computer correctly and the XBMC you can actually stream the videos directly from your computer. Provided your network can handle it.

I suggest you head over to the XBMC forums like nimbles said, you can find directions on how to set this up.

Yup just share the folder where your files are and your networked xbox will pick it up.
