I have recently started to get problems with XP boot up. My machine hangs when booting up. If I open the cd drive the boot up continue normally. The problem started after I tried to run an Oracle exam cd that was for NT/2000. Not sure if this is the cause.

why would you be trying to boot up from the CD instead of the hard drive?

Use Restore & return to the time before you put on that software.
