You can remove subtitles from DVD menu of the film. But there are some discs with stubborn subtitles, which do not go away. Follow the steps given below to remove such persistent subtitles:
1. When the film is playing, press the DISPLAY button on your remote.
2. You’ll see a menu on top of your TV screen displaying title, chapter, audio settings, subtitle settings etc.
3. With your Right/Left Arrow direction key on remote, move focus to Subtitle square. In this square, you can focus on 1/8 (where 8 is the number of subtitle languages available on DVD) to toggle between different subtitle languages or ON to switch ON or switch OFF subtitles. Please note that the desired option will be highlighted in yellow and you’ll have to look closely at the picture to know that it has been selected.
4. Place focus on ON and press ENTER button on your remote to change it to OFF. You’ll see that the option changes to OFF. That's it. Its all done. The subtitles will be removed from the screen.

Please note: You can always toggle between different subtitle languages using SUBTITLE button on your remote. But if you have to remove subtitles, then you’ll have to use the above procedure.

If you have any doubt, then send me an e-mail at amitkjha@hotmail.com and I'll send you the above mentioned procedure with pictures and snapshots.
