Hi all

Im new to dvd's and just wondered should i be able to play a dvd in my dvd writer that has macrovision protection.
I put the disc in and the drive does not even know it's there ???
Can these only be played in a dvd reader drive and not a writer drive.

macrovision wont keep it from playing, just makes the picture funny.

Is it an original disc or backup you are trying to play, i suspect a back up and your DVD Player does not like that media ?

As Handyguy said macrovision will scramble the picture, but you should not see this unless you are trying to copy a DVD say to video and that is when the Macrovision copy protection kicks in.
