i have an older xbox (i had to desolder the lpc points so its from 1.0-.2 i spose) and i was trying to install an aladdin live chip. i had many problems and probably opened up my xbox to resolder/desolder ect... over a dozen times. finally i took it out and now my xbox will only stay on for a few minutes OR an orange light will come up after a few minutes and the fan will turn on FULL blast! is this fixable? i think its the lpc port, i removed the pin header thing out of it, and it doesnt look to good now. could that be it? suggestions anyone?

is your xbox already hot? you might have a shitty fan. if you have 2, then you have a 1.0. 1 thing you can try is adding a better fan, or removing the cover and see if it does the same thing. i dont belive its related to your chip. if you use xbox tool (or evtool 1.0.6 for evolution x m8) you can config the bios to make the fan super fast to make sure it works ok.

It's hard to say from that description, but it sounds like it is overheating. I would check to see how hot the heatsink on the processor is when this happens. Did you move any of the cables around or anything, so that the airflow in the system would be constricted?
