Hi Rruban, welcom to the forum M8, you are a little confused on copying DVD's and playing DVD's I think.

If the DVD is a shop bought one, or you just want to make it region free for play back, image the disc with DVD decrypter, under the tools heading you can make the disc region free, once the image is created burn it back, that way you can leave your players alone, different stand alone DVD players have different methods of disabling the rgion code setting on them, much easier to do the disc, fully compatable then ;)

What kind of DVD media are you using? most stand alone DVD players do not support DVD+R . if you want to play the DVD's you burn you will probably have to use DVD-R media.

secondly your slow burn speed sounds like DMA is not enabled. it is not uncommon when installing a new burner to find it is operation in PIO mode and not DMA2. check in device manager and see if your burner is running in PIO or DMA2.
