greetings,
currently setting up an htpc machine for pvr capabilities. The wife is asking if we can use the same machine for karaoke, like the way the use it in the karaoke parlors.
After some testing, this is what i ended up doing.
I have a few karaoke dvd's that i ripped onto the HD. Each video was ripped separately with their multiple voice tracks. I can play each track using PowerDVD and switch on/off the voice. (very cool)
I bought an old mixer w/ 2 mics from a going out of business sale.
1. I currently connect the SPF from the htpc to my Denon 3901 amp
2. VGA to component converter to TV
Does the audio from the htpc *have* to go through the mixer, or can I plug in the mixer into the amp and have the amp do the work.
Is there a front-end that allows me to have users enter a six-digit # to select a song. (like in the parlors).
Here is was I currently have
Soyo Dragon MB w/ P4 2.8
512 Ram
200 GB HD (getting another 200 soon)
ATI 9600 Pro
Hauppauge PVR-250
Soundblaster Audigy
Pronto (wireless control of htpc)
any help or advice would be grateful
